Do you think you can write a 50,000 word book in 30 days? What about young people doing the same, or writing a book the length you set them? The answer is yes.

We are setting the challenge for Bridgwater people to write a the first draft of a 50,000 word book in just 30 days, over the whole month of April.

What else are we going to do while we are all stuck at home in lockdown?

So, from April 1st-April 30th, we are setting you this challenge, and we will be providing daily help & advice to help push you in your goal.  The idea is that everybody taking part can also support each other and, by the end of the 30 days, we will have a whole host of first draft books written.

Once you have written your first draft, which is always seen as the hardest part, we will give you help & advice on editing it to be ready for sale, and then advice on what you need to sell it. So this isn’t just a way to fill the time, but you may find yourself with a best-seller on your hands, making you some money.

We have been involved in Nanowrimo since 2016, and this is what that organisation does – but with hundreds of thousands of people taking part. It is very doable and yes, you can do it.

We work with authors around the world who are making a career from writing books, and we have marketed their books to the point where some of them are now USA Today & Amazon best-sellers, so we know what to do when giving you advice on getting your books out there. The only difference is that we are doing this for free, and no, are not going to do anything silly like request a cut from your book sales – just remember us when you make it.

The rules are simple:

  • Write daily (if you can)
  • Select any genre
  • Write either a full book or a collection of short stories
  • Let us know how you are doing
  • Let us know when you complete the challenge
  • Stay safe

Please fill in the form on the right (or below on a mobile device) and read the articles we post on writing up until 1st April, as these will help you to prepare.

Sign Up for the Challenge

By signing up to the challenge, we can then get you involved and send you emails which are designed to help you to reach your goal.

We WILL NOT use your email for any purpose, and you can remove yourself from the list at any time.
